Gertrude Walters
Gert began painting in July of 2007, beginning with a painting called "Blue Horses", a 16 X 16 acrylic on canvas piece that included seven horses and six crosses. Following the sudden death of Sage, our daughter, she found a desire to keep in touch with where she was and to keep herself going; she found painting that outlet. Being an avid dog lover (and keeper) and admirer of horses, she continue painting with most of her subjects being horses or ponies. She signs her paintings with a simple butterfly stamp, representing Sage, who loved butterflies. "I decided to paint, just to keep myself sane and butterflies remind me of my daugther. To me the butterflies are beautiful and my daughter was beautiful."
Gert has kept a watchful and learnng eye of the success of her husband, Daniel A. Walters art career, 19 years. Thus, when her time to paint came, it was already within her soul and her knowledge of the paint had grown.
Today, Gert continues painting, nearing her third year of painting and creating the style of her own. Her work can found at this website exclusively and her work continues to sell.
