Sage Rayshell Walters, daughter of Daniel and Gertrude Walters died on Monday morning, Februrary 5, 2007. She was returning from a trip with friends to las vegas, NV. They were in a single vehicle rollover that ended her life in Laguna, MM. She was 24 and leaves behind her 4 year old daughter, Aneesa Rain Sanchez. Sage was a community leader for Tohajiilee, NM; her main emphasis as a Prevention Technician was the community youth, where she spend much of her work and personal time.
Sage was a proud mother, a stong independent woman, determined go back to school, become more educated and return to the community to pick up the work she left in January 2007. Her presence and work are continually being honored in the community of Tohajiilee.
To continue to honor her emphasis, her students education, a non-profit scholoarship foundation is in development, entitled S.A.G.E. You can continue to recieve updates on the S.A.G.E. Scholarship Foundation here. The acronym stands for Seek, Achieve, Graduate, Educate.
Sage is greatly missed.
